At My Baby Pajamas we know the importance of a good nights sleep.  But do our kids know just how important it is to get a good nights sleep?  We have talked with several sleep experts and even some of the experts have written  a few articles for our blog but we would like to share one website with you today.   This website is for kids, parents and teachers and it teaches the importance of sleep to children.  The website is Sleep for Kids and it was created by the National Sleep Foundation.

The National Sleep Foundation is an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to improving public health and safety by achieving understanding of sleep and sleep disorders, and by supporting education, sleep-related research and advocacy.

Sleep for kids is geared toward school age children and teaches the importance of sleep to them.   The website has many different sections for your child and you to go over together.   There is “Why we Sleep”, “How Sleep Works”, “Sleep and You”, and it also has a section of games and puzzles for kids to do on their own.   Sleep for kids also has a section for just Parents and Teachers and goes over many different sleep questions and sleep disorders.

If you and your children are not getting the recommended amount of sleep at night (an 8 year old requires 10-11 hours of sleep), this is the website for you.   This is something you and your child can do together.
