As parents, we are always trying to teach our kids something new and how to survive in this life. Because if there is one thing we know as parents, life is tough and doesn’t always turn out the way we plan. But as I teach my kids right from wrong, I decided to take a step back and I realized my kids teach me things everyday. Here are the top 8 things my kids taught me lately.
- That NOBODY knows EVERYTHING about EVERYTHING. (My kids tell me this all the time, do you think they are talking about me
). - That it’s okay to be wrong as that’s how we learn.
- That there is no such thing as being too polite. You can never say please, thank-you or excuse me too often. Adults seem to forget this in our busy everyday lives.
- That a smile is the simplest thing you can do to truly brighten the day of someone else. Nothing is sweeter than your child looking up at you and smiling for no reason at all! Try it on a complete stranger today.
- You can be happy if you choose to be happy. Simple, but sometimes very hard to do in real life. Choose to be happy in the moment.
- Having breakfast food for dinner is okay and I must admit, sometimes just easier.
- That life is a journey not a sprint. Sit back and enjoy the ride!
- Having a pajama day at home and watching movies is great family time!
What have you learned from your kids lately?

Does your child’s school host Pajama Day for the kids? Here in Scottsdale, AZ it seems to be very popular with all the ages. In fact, the high school kids look like they are in their pajamas all the time but that’s another blog post. Anyway, do you feel your child should wear pajamas to school? When is it no longer cute?
Today was Dr. Seuss Birthday and a lot of the schools around the country were celebrating today by reading all day in school while wearing their pajamas. Here at our school we did celebrate Dr. Seuss Birthday but not wearing pajamas. However, we have had our many pajamas day.
So do you think it’s safe for kids to wear pajamas to school? Do you think it’s too much? Or do you believe it’s in all good fun? This is one hot topic with a lot of the Mom Blogs today. We would love to hear your opinion about this hot topic.
Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

P.S. My oldest son in 5th grade does not care for Pajama Day since he sleeps in Claesen’s boxers but my youngest son who is 5 1/2 years old just loves it.
