So I wanted to share with you one of my sons favorite cookie recipe. My oldest just loves peppermint and nothing says Christmas like Chocolate Peppermint Chip Cookies. Great recipe! You can always crush old candy canes (in their wrappers to keep it tidier and less sticky) instead of using these chips — which I have never seen in stores. I love it when we have candy canes leftover because they BEG to be incorporated into cookies and brownies. Waste not want not, right?

@bakingnotwriting yes, that’s a great idea. I have done that before too with the old candy canes. This was the first time I saw the Peppermint chips in the stores and thought I would give them a try. I found them at Walmart.

Aha! I boycott Walmart — not for political reasons about because it seems depressing, from what people have told me.
I do love a deal though! But I have never lived near a Walmart so that makes it easier. It’s become kind of a thing for me now…I’ve never been in a Walmart. Almost proud of it!
